When do I consider the possibility of obtaining the international circulation permit?
Normally we usually consider the possibility of obtaining the international circulation permit when we plan to travel to a foreign country for a period of more than 90 days.
What is meant by a foreign country?
Foreign countries are those that are outside the European Union or the European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein).

How can I apply for my international circulation permit?
I can apply for it in two ways. The first way would be online accessing with your digital certificate, electronic DNI or your cl@ve credentials through the same DGT website. The second way would be personally delivering all the documentation at any Headquarters or Traffic Office.
Which is the best way?
The best way is to request it online, because, in this case, your permit will be available within two business days after making your request. On the other hand, if you do it in person, you must request an appointment (it will depend on the availability of the office). and go to the office to make your request.
What documentation do I need?
If you do it through the internet. You must have your digital certificate, electronic DNI or your cl@ve credentials installed to access the service. If it is in person, you must have your original and valid documentation at hand (DNI if you are Spanish, NIE if you are a foreigner).
Do I have to go personally or can someone else do it for me?

What is the value of the rate?

How long is the permit valid for?
It is valid for one year and cannot be extended. If you NEED a new one you will have to take it out again.
I have an expired Spanish circulation permit, is it useful for me?
No, it must be current, as it will always accompany the international.
