Inmigrante poniendo su huella dactilar para documentación

A press release has recently been issued through which the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has taken measures regarding fingerprint appointments and favorable immigration resolutions.

What is the objective?

  1. To provide greater legal certainty to foreign citizens.
  2. To provide reassurance to individuals awaiting an appointment for fingerprinting or issuance of the TIE.
  3. To assert before third parties the rights inherent to the authorization granted by the Immigration Office.

What does this measure entail?

From now on, resolutions issued by Immigration Offices will specify their full effects without prejudice to obtaining the Foreigner Identity Card. Likewise, it is emphasized that (…) the mere possession of said resolution produces full effects before the administration and before third parties, and its effectiveness is not conditioned upon obtaining the Foreigner Identity Card (TIE).

This explanation in the form of a reminder will appear in resolutions issued by the Immigration Office. This means that citizens currently awaiting the TIE can use the resolution for all necessary procedures, as it certifies their residence and/or work authorization.

Obtaining the TIE is both a right and an obligation for the citizen. This measure will benefit many individuals who until now have been in this situation.
