Once the nationality file has been submitted, we can check its current status. Do you know what the different statuses are and what they mean? Do you know where you can check the status?
- STATUS INQUIRY
The status of the file can be checked via the website https://sede.mjusticia.gob.es/eConsultas/inicioNacionalidad. There, you must enter a series of details to view the current status of the file.
- STATUSES OF SPANISH NATIONALITY FILES SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY
When checking the nationality file, one of the following may appear:
- Open-Registered: means that it has been correctly registered but is waiting to be admitted for processing by the Ministry of Justice.
- Open-In Process: This means that the mandatory official reports have not yet been requested. Once received, the file will enter the qualification and proposed resolution phase. In this status, we may be required to provide documentation or submit additional information.
- Open- Granted/Denied. Here we may find… Good news! It has been resolved favorably. We may also find “denied”. In the event of an unfavorable resolution, contact us! We also handle appeals against denials.
At Martínez & Caballero Abogados, we encourage you to process your nationality with us. We assist you with everything necessary to submit your nationality file and obtain a favorable resolution. Contact us! We look forward to hearing from you!
